Our Pre-School Nursery

THE FABER PRE-SCHOOL NURSERY:

** Places available for 15 hours/ 30 hours funding are available NOW**

At The Faber we have Nursery places for 3-4 year olds.   We offer 15 and 30 hours fully funded childcare places during term time and we accept children from the term after they turn 3 years old.   We also accept part-time nursery children, with a view to building the hours up to help with transition into Reception class.

Our Nursery is the foundation of The Faber family and as your child embarks upon their educational journey, we understand that this is a very important decision to make.   We are committed to providing an environment where your child will feel safe and happy, whilst being encouraged to achieve their full potential.   All children are nurtured and encouraged to learn through play.   The activities we offer each day will encourage your child to be:-

•          Independent and willing to try new experiences;

•          To make friends and learn to share;

•          To listen to and take part in rhymes, stories and music;

•          To learn new words and develop their use of language;

•          To develop pre-reading/writing and number skills;

The nursery is led by Miss Forrest who is a qualified Early Years Practitioner, and together with Mrs Rushton, they provide a positive start to school life for all of the children and support them as they transition into our Reception class.

To help with development the children have access to a range of carefully planned and structured learning opportunities and activities, both inside and outside, where they can develop key skills both academically and socially.   Our Early Years Foundation Stage covers the seven areas of learning:-

  • communication and language.

  • physical development.

  • personal, social and emotional development.

  • literacy.

  • mathematics.

  • understanding the world.

  • expressive arts and design

We provide visits to the school library, music room and fantastic outdoor activities which overlooks our beautiful countryside, as well as other exciting experiences within the main school.   We work closely with our families to ensure that the children are happy and flourishing.

The contact between parents and nursery staff is most important.   We all want your child to settle in comfortably and be successful.  The co-operation between parent and school starts here.   Your role as a parent in education is just as important as ours.   You are your child’s first and most important teacher and your contribution is vital.

Please contact the school office, by email: office@faber.staffs.sch.uk or telephone: 01538 702324/703715 to arrange a visit and/or to answer any other queries you may have.
